Stephen Hill

Originally from Cincinnati, Stephen Hill has lived and performed in Colorado for over ten years. He has studied jazz with such renowned players as Drew Morell, Paul Musso, and Sean McGowan, and graduated first in his class from the University of Colorado with a degree in Music Performance. In 2008, the U of C granted him the Creative Research Symposium Award for his studies on the music of Django Reinhardt. Stephen has fronted numerous bands as a guitarist and vocalist, and played banjo in the acclaimed traditional jazz group, the Claim Jumpers. He can be seen around town doing everything from straight-ahead jazz to rock, and currently serves on the faculty at Broadway Music School where he teaches ensembles and private lessons.
